The outpouring of  love has been tangible as everyone has rallied around Charity, the girls and the Taatjes family over the past few years. It’s been a way for each of us to honor Derek and Dylan, while taking action in our grief. As needs have evolved so are the ways you can continue to remember the boys and motivate the girls on a day-to-day basis. Ways you can help:

1. Prayer
Charity and family have been sustained by the unceasing prayers offered by their loved ones and a network of strangers worldwide who have been impacted by the story. We ask that you continue to embrace them in your prayers as they continue to build a new life.

2. The Derek Taatjes Spiritual Impact Scholarship | Taylor University

Financial contributions are being taken to start,  and continue in coming years, an annual scholarship for a student of Taylor University who has a passion for Christ and has a desire to impact his or her community towards Christ. As Derek said, it was in college that he felt the true commitment and heart change. His Taylor experience and college relationships started his passion for God’s word and the change it can have on a young person’s heart.  His family and friends hope this passion can carry on through this scholarship and its recipients. I am praying tonight and tomorrow for you, Charity, and the team of runners (especially daughter-in-law Jessica) and all those involved with the prayer found at the end of 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2: “May our LORD JESUS CHRIST Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word”
